Day Five

Day Five:

Team Rocket?  More like Team SuckIt!  Slowpoke Well was so easy, although I was afraid what I was going to encounter.  Boss-type Team Rocket members always have badass Pokemon.  Not this time.  Wiped the floor with them and laughed all the way back to town.

Then I got stupid and ran into Assbutt before going to the gym.  Ehrmegerd!  All three of his guys were 4-5 levels higher than me!  No matter.  Got his first guy down no sweat, so he brought out his starter next (Bayleaf).  Threw out Hilda and despite having a super effective move, she could barely put a scratch on him.  To make things worse, he kept using Synthesis and restoring his HP completely.  AND Hilda became poisoned.  This wasn't going to work.  Called her back and looked over my options.  Olan?  No, he's water.  Rockette?  No, she's rock.  Matt or Beavis?  No, they were 7-8 levels lower.  My only choice was DarksMcGee.

Razor Leaf.  1/3 of my health gone.  And all I had was Lick, which did very very little damage.  How was I going to come out of this without anyone dying?  Hypnosis.  Missed.  Almost dead with a critical.  Super Potion back to full.  Another critical.  Super Potion again.  Regular hit.  Hypnosis... it worked!  Ok, so its time to gamble.  There was no other way to win.  But it could mean DarksMcGee's life.  I had him use Curse.  Another half of his health gone and... Bayleaf still asleep!  Whew!  Super Potion!  Heal heal heal!  Within four turns, Bayleaf was dead.  My team easily finished off the rest.

DarksMcGee single-handedly saved me from wiping, because thats exactly what would have happened.

I went and trained a bit but it was slow going, so I went back and hit the gym.  Got to the leader easy enough and then... Scyther.  And Hilda couldn't hurt him for crap.  In the end DarksMcGee bailed me out AGAIN and it was also very, very close.  I wasn't sure he was going to survive.

Next up... the Ilex Forest (and hopefully more grindable wild pokemans!)
